It can be produced in a variety of densities and is characterized by having a high chemical stability and high energy absorbency. Since it is Closed Cell and can not breathe, it is firmer than the flexible urethane foams, yet it is still classified as flexible. It is primarily produced in sheets or planks known as Ethafoam, and in roll stock that is typical of Cellu-Cushion. In addition, there is a subcategory of Polyethylene foam family know as Cross-Linked or Minicel foams.
